October 2, 2008 10:15 AM - Faith communities will be discussing the importance and influence of spirituality in palliative care on Monday, Oct. 27.
Religious leaders within the Region of Peel will come together at 6:30 p.m. at the Solel Synagogue, 2399 Folkway Dr.
“This is such a valuable opportunity to offer the public and health care professionals an occasion to learn and better understand the rich cultural fabric woven into the provision of palliative care within our community,” said Jane Brushey-Martin, co-ordinator of Bereavement and Spiritual Care at Hospice of Peel. “I am very excited to be able to bring this amazing group of diverse people together to discuss such an important topic.”
The Hospice of Peel is partnering with Buddhist Light Temple, Credit Valley Hospital, ISNA Mosque, Solel Synagogue, Sri Ram Mandir and Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga in the event.
