Known for his numerous attempts to break various world records, Joachim is trying to get his name in the Guinness World Record Book one more time by competing in the Netflix Movie Watching World Championship. It starts tomorrow at Times Square in New York City and continues until Tuesday.
Joachim will be one of eight contestants watching 56 movies for more than 120 hours in hopes of being named the winner. The winner will receive $10,000 and a lifetime subscription to Netflix, an online movie rental company.
The rules are simple. Competitors will be given 10 minutes between each movie to refresh themselves.
Eating, drinking, standing and stretching are all allowed as long as the contestant's eyes are on the screen. Medical professionals will monitor the contestants throughout the event to determine if they're really watching or are just staring blankly at the screen.
The contest starts at 10:30 a.m. The competitors will sit in the Netflix Movie Watching Arena, an open room erected in the middle of Times Square that will allow passersby to cheer the competitors on while keeping an eye on things.
Joachim's next record-breaking stunt is scheduled for this December in India when he tries to film an entire movie, and release it to theatres, in just 12 days.
