Through four days of competition, Ciach, 42, and his partners — Corey Clayton of Calgary, Jason Kovack of Windsor, David Simard of Granby, Quebec and George Lambert IV of Hamilton — stand 11th in the five-man team event.
With three games to bowl tomorrow, the Canadian squad could rise as high as eighth among teams from the 56 competing nations.
Meanwhile, Ciach, a six-time GTA bowler of the year, is enjoying an outstanding individual competition. The seven-time member of Team Canada stands sixth overall among 330 bowlers to date in the running for top individual honours.
Through 15 games, Ciach sits 83 points behind the leader, Alejandro Cruz of Mexico.
After combining scores in the doubles, trios, five-man and singles competition, the top 16 bowlers will qualify for the masters elimination finals.
Ciach has three games to bowl in the five-man event, and another six in the singles competition in the tournament, which wraps up Saturday.
On Monday, Ciach teamed with partners Mark Buffa of Montreal and Lambert to finish 17th in competition as a trio. The trio failed to qualify for the semi-finals by 104 points.
This past Saturday, Ciach and Simard finished 10th overall in doubles competition.
