August 25, 2008 10:11 AM - It's easy to win when the opposing team doesn't score. Just ask the Mississauga Falcons.
The Mississauga Soccer Club's under-15 boys' squad shut out all five opponents in Ottawa earlier this month at the 2008 Ontario Summer Games to win the Ontario Cup.
On Saturday at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility, Filip Luliani notched the winning goal as the Falcons blanked Kitchener Spirit 2-0 in the final.
Iuliani, who had five goals in the tournament, also scored the winner in the club's 1-0 victory over North Mississauga Panthers in the semi-finals.
In round-robin action, Mississauga defeated Kitchener 3-0, North York Spartacus 4-0 and Ottawa Fury 2-0.
Falcons midfielder Oscar Cordon was named tournament MVP, while goaltender Angelo Cavalluzzo was named the 2008 team MVP.
In the under-15 girls' final, Mississauga Dixie Dragons lost 2-1 to Brampton Brams United Blaze.
