Police say the suspect is male, of unknown racial origin, with a thin build and wearing shorts. He was last seen running in a southerly direction, and is believed to be armed.
The 15-year-old youth was shot in the Eglinton Ave. E. and Hurontario St. area last night.
It happened at the rear of St. Jude’s Separate School on Nahani Way shortly before 6:30 p.m.
The victim had no vital signs when police found him on the sports field behind the elementary school. Paramedics took the victim to Trillium Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead by trauma physicians, said Const. J.P. Valade.
The victim’s identity will not be released until next-of-kin can be notified. An autopsy has been scheduled for today.
Police are still trying to determine what led to the fatal confrontation, during which multiple shots were fired.
