A 15-year-old youth is dead and Peel police are on the hunt for his killer after a shooting in the Eglinton Ave. E. and Hurontario St. area tonight.
It happened at the rear of St. Jude’s Separate School on Nahani Way shortly before 6:30 p.m.
The victim had no vital signs when police and paramedics arrived but was taken to Trillium Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead by trauma physicians, said Const. J.P. Valade.
Police are still trying to determine what led to the fatal confrontation, during which multiple shots were fired. A male was seen running away from the scene, said Valade.
Police swarmed the area immediately after the homicide, but so far have come up empty in trying to find the shooter. They’re appealing for witnesses to Peel’s 19th murder of the year.
