August 21, 2008 01:45 PM - One of the City of Mississauga’s most popular walks takes place this Saturday at Riverwood Park.
Join Dr. Monika Havelka, professor of biology at University of Toronto Mississauga, and explore the world of Riverwood’s bats. The walk takes on even more relevancy this year because of a reported decline in bat numbers in the eastern United States. Is it happening here, too?
Havelka will share the results of her students’ research on our bats.
The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. with a short lecture at MacEwan Field Station near the main parking lot.
Cost is $10 for Mississauga Garden Council member, $15 for the public. Family fee is $15 for MGC members, $20 per family for the public.
To register, call 905-279-5878.
Riverwood Park is located at The Credit Woodlands and Burnhamthorpe Rd. W.
