Siemens’ exiderdome offers guided tours

 

Siemens exiderdome combines of 55 containers, 220 tons of steel, 20 kilometres of power cables to form an exhibition of technological innovation.

August 16, 2008 09:18 AM - Tradespeople curious about technical aspects of the food and beverage industry or automotive, oil and gas will likely want to see the Siemens' exiderdome.
A two-storey multimedia exhibit, constructed from 55 containers that transform into a $50 million exposition, Siemens' exiderdome arrived in Toronto on a 108-metre long barge via the Great Lakes.
Siemens, with its head office in Mississauga, has a goal to bring productivity solutions and systems to Canadian industry. This is its second of a five-city, cross-Canada tour, August 25 – 29, where visitors can drop by for guided tours and have an opportunity to participate in seminars on different topics.
Tours are available by appointment all week at the exiderdome's Toronto stop at the International Marine Passenger Terminal, 8 Unwin Ave., south of Cherry St. on Lake Ontario.
Tours allow trade and industry visitors to experience Siemens’ world-leading expertise in various industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive, oil and gas, and building construction. Representing more than 130,000 products, the exiderdome has seven showrooms of product displays. It is entirely self-contained, with air conditioning, heating, wireless internet and a fully operational kitchen. Guided tours of the exiderdome are offered, where Siemen's experts can show you new ways to increase the productivity and efficiency of your business.

The Canadian visit is part of a global tour that began in China in 2005. After its final stop in Halifax, the exiderdome will travel to Boston where it will complete a US tour.
