Hankering for an Arby’s Beef ’n Cheddar sandwich?
Starting Monday and continuing until Sept. 4, you can scarf down the classic for just 30 cents, with purchase of medium fries and medium drink.
The sandwich is 30 years old, and the Mississauga-based restaurant chain wants to thank the iconic sandwich’s legions of fans.
In 1978, a team of Arby’s employees came together on an experimental R&D project. Its mission: take the already popular Arby’s Roast Beef sandwich and create a sister sandwich just as perfect and just as delicious.
The result? A thinly-sliced roast beef, topped with gooey, warm melted cheddar cheese, flavoured with zesty, red ranch sauce served up on an onion roll. The Beef ’n Cheddar was born.
“The Beef ’n Cheddar marked a major milestone for Arby’s in 1978 and it continues to be a favourite even today,” said Jason Abelkop, Arby’s senior
vice-president. “We want to thank our loyal customers for making the Beef ’n Cheddar a star on the Arby’s menu by offering it for just 30 cents, less than what it originally cost 30 years ago.”
Arby’s has 113 restaurants throughout Canada, including five in Mississauga.
