There's a new gaming venue in town, and it's big — very big.
Cineplex Coliseum officials announced today that they'll begin renting the entertainment facility's big screens for private parties of up to 12 people who want to play Xbox 360 the way they've never played it before.
The Coliseum is located across from Square One Shopping Centre.
"We are pleased to exclusively partner with Xbox 360 to bring the gaming experience to our big screens," said Pat Marshall, Cineplex vice-president of communications and investor relations. "This unique experience is great for parties and events for groups of two to 12 and will make the gaming experience larger than life."
Beginning Friday (Aug. 15), patrons will be able to experience their favourite Xbox 360 games outside regular movie showtimes. The cost of a two-hour private gaming session for up to 12 people is $179, plus taxes.
That includes the use of Xbox 360 and four wireless controllers. Renters can either bring their own games or use one of the available games in the theatre's library, which includes some of the latest titles.
Contact the Coliseum box office for hours and to make a reservation.
