August 12, 2008 08:42 AM - Five young men who robbed a convenience store in a Meadowvale mall early this morning indicated that they had a gun before they grabbed a quantity of cash and cigarettes.
Peel Regional Police say a group of men entered the Mac's Milk store at 6040 Glen Erin Dr., in a mall near Britannia Rd., at about 12:45 a.m. They demanded money, pushed the 29-year-old man working there to the floor and helped themselves to a cash and cigarettes.
Although the intruders indicated they had a weapon, the store clerk did not see one.
The thieves ran out to a waiting vehicle in the parking lot and escaped in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured.
Police are looking for five young black men, in their late teens or early 20s, all with slim builds. They all wore bandannas that covered the lower halves of their faces.
Anyone with information is asked to call the central robbery bureau of Peel Police at 905-453-2121, ext. 3410.
