Projectors aren't used just to show the family vacation photos anymore.
"Our research shows today's consumers have much higher expectations for computer projectors than ever before," said Ron Hulse, vice-president of sales and marketing in the IT division at Mississauga-based Samsung Electronics Canada. "To simply mirror the computer screen image is no longer sufficient. They want high resolution, vivid colour, brightness and sharpness, because their uses have become much more diverse."
Projectors were once the workhorses for the office business presentation or for illustrated lectures by teachers, but they're now used for home videos, video games and multimedia presentations.
Today, Samsung introduced its new SP series of projectors, which it claims provides "unmatched brightness, precise colour reproduction, true film mode reproduction, superior sound and versatile compatibility" with the newest IT products.
The four new projectors will be available at Staples and Samsung retailers next month. They range in price from $799 to $9,999.
Samsung has its corporate offices on Financial Dr. in Meadowvale.
