They may not be born winners, but they certainly learned how to win at an early age.
The Mississauga Falcons under-9 ‘A’ team has followed up last year’s success with more tournament victories this summer.
This season the Falcons have out-scored their opponents 81-16 in league play and boast a record of 19 wins, one loss and two ties.
In tournament action, the Falcons most recently captured the Frank Sobil Spring Classic hosted by the Oshawa Kicks. Earlier, they won the Mississauga International Tournament hosted by their own Mississauga Soccer Club, and the Ancaster Heritage Days Tournament, hosted by the Ancaster Soccer Club.
Those triumphs come on the heels of winning the Caledon All-Star Tournament, Mississauga All-Star Tournament and finishing second at the Whitby All-Star Tournament last season. They also won the League Cup at the Hershey Center during the indoor season.
Members of the team include Francis Iannicca, Alex Johne, Klaidi Cela, Leith Adi, Ahman Ottley, Anthony Falconi, Dante Sitahall, Philip Ferko, Sherief Hamouda, Dylon Gagne, Mackenzie Rock, Nathanial Bennett and Noah Hippolyte-Smith.
Head coach Frank Loiero is assisted by Samer Adi, trainer Julio Mattacchioni and manager Adam Smith.
