July 2, 2008 04:59 PM - Two men who bought alcohol Sunday afternoon at a Cooksville liquor store were beaten and robbed of their booze only moments later, police say.
The victims, both aged 19, suffered minor injuries. One was cut by a knife and needed four stitches to close the wound, according to Peel Regional Police.
The men had just left the LCBO store at Hurontario St. and Hillcrest Ave., and were walking on a path behind TL Kennedy Secondary School at about 3:45 p.m. when they were approached by a group of five people, including three males and two females.
The group made a demand for the booze and after a confrontation in which a knife was used to cut one of the victims while the two female suspects assaulted kicked and punched the other victim, the culprits fled the scene with the alcohol.
One of the male suspects is described as Latin American and in his late teens.
Another has brown skin, is five-foot-seven and weighs 160 pounds.
The third is five-foot-seven and 120 pounds. There is no description of the female suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233.
