The Peel District School Board is offering free learning and fun this summer for parents and their young children.
Starting today, Peel Early Years Hubs at three Mississauga locations are offering a range of programs for parents and children aged four-and-under.
Officials say the programs are meant to provide opportunities for families to attend play-based activities to support early learning and development.
Activities include arts and crafts, reading and storytime programs, food preparation, neighbourhood clean-up, barbecues and sports camps.
Sessions run about two hours in length, and participation is on a drop-in basis.
"We're glad to be able to offer these summer programs at our hubs throughout the summer," said Jim Grieve, Peel Board director of education. "Each program is extremely valuable to families in helping to build skills through activities that will lead to success when starting school."
Early Years Hubs in Mississauga are located at Burnhamthorpe Public School (3465 Golden Orchard Dr.), Lancaster Public School (7425 Netherwood Rd.) and Oakridge Public School (2060 Stonehouse Cr.).
Hours vary from site to site.
