As the lone second baseman on the all-stars, the 22-year-old graduate from St. Francis Xavier Secondary School, will likely get a lot of playing time.
Also a star for Canisius College in Buffalo during the school year, the 5-foot-7, 191-pound Asis is a member of the IBL's first-place Barrie Baycats.
Canadian baseball legend Ferguson Jenkins will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and also play in a special charity slo-pitch game before the 2008 stars and Leafs take to the field at 2 p.m.
This season marks the 40th anniversary of the Maple Leafs, who've played at Christie Pits since day one.
Toronto owner Jack Dominico is looking forward to hosting the game.
“It’s a special anniversary for our ball club and there’s no way to better celebrate it than to have the New Era All-Star Game right at Christie Pits,” he said.
