The City of Mississauga has signed on with Bullfrog Power to purchase clean, emissions-free electricity for the Civic Centre. As a result of the agreement, the City will reduce its annual electricity-related CO2 emissions footprint by almost 1,360 tonnes.
In addition, the City’s energy management program has installed infrared heaters, waste heat recovery systems, rink and garage lighting dimmers in various facilities and LED traffic lights.
“We’re committed to protecting our environment and acting responsibly,” said Mayor Hazel McCallion. “Supporting a green power purchase with Bullfrog Power is a good example of this. We have to work together with all our partners to help keep the environment clean and sustainable for future generations.”
