June 30, 2008 02:37 PM - There was no love lost between police and a thief who held up a sex shop in east Mississauga on Sunday afternoon.
Officers say they caught up with a man they believe was armed with a screwdriver when he robbed the Lovecraft shop on Dundas St. E. just after noon.
But, when police began questioning their suspect, he bit one of the officers.
The 39-year-old woman working in the store, located just west of Hwy. 427, told police a man who had walked in posing as a customer suddenly pulled out a screwdriver and demanded that she open up the till.
She was having trouble opening the cash drawer, police said, so the intruder smashed it open and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The victim was uninjured. She phoned 9-1-1 and Toronto Police made an arrest less than 30 minutes later.
Charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm is 22-year-old Ryan Oppenheimer of no fixed address.
